Bhubaneswar/29.04.02017:Department of Personnel and Training(DoPT) has Conducted training for Public Information Officer(PIOs) Assistant Public Information Officer(APIOs) and First Appellate Authority(FAAs) at Gopabandhu Academy of Administration, Bhubaneswar for one day in the conference hall of Gopabandhu Academy of Administration, Bhubaneswar. 32 Participants from Home Department were present over the Training. In the training Dr. Chitrasen Pasayat, Deputy Director (Training) welcomed to all participants and cited on course objectives.

Prof. D. C. Mohapatra, former Prof. Department of Law, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar cited the important provision of RTI Act and Rules and also role of public Authorities, PIOs, APIOs and FAAs under RTI Act. In the Workshop Prof. Mohapatra briefed regarding role of nodal officers, PIO, APIO and other subordinate staffs, citizen Right to access information. Besides this he has also described case laws under Sou Motu disclosure ruling of courts and Central Information Commission. Pro. D.C. Mohapatra explained that, Right to Information Act 2005 mandates timely response to citizen requests for government information. “He said RTI is not only access of Information but also sword for the Public Authorities”.

In the second session Smt.Jayshree Mohanty, president, Luminous Infoways as a Resource Person presented the PowerPoint on RTI CMM and its usefulness in daily life for the PIOs as well as Public Authorities. She has also facilitated a practical demonstration of RTI CMM how to be applied or maintain their proactive Disclosure under RTI section 4(1) (b).

She has also cited regarding online Lodging and comply of RTI application and e-Payment.
